Single purpose
Easy Eng does exactly one thing: when you select a word, phrase, or sentence on a webpage, it shows you an English definition and/or a Vietnamese translation in a small popup. It has no other feature, and no code path unrelated to that purpose.
What gets sent, and where
The only data Easy Eng transmits off your device is the exact text you highlight, and only at the moment you click "Define" or "Translate." That text is sent directly from your browser to the two lookup services below — never to a server we operate, because we don't operate one.

These requests carry only the selected text and the standard network metadata any web request includes (such as your IP address, which the receiving service sees the way any website you visit would). Easy Eng adds no tracking identifiers, account data, or browsing history to these requests.
What stays on your device
Easy Eng stores one thing locally, using the browser's storage API: whether the extension is switched on or off. That preference never leaves your device and is not visible to us or to any third party.
The background script also keeps a short-lived, in-memory cache of recent lookups so re-selecting the same phrase doesn't repeat a network call. This cache lives only for the current browser session and is never written to disk or synced anywhere.
What we don't collect
Easy Eng does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
The extension also skips text you select inside input fields, text areas, and editable content, so nothing you're typing is ever eligible for lookup.
Retention
We don't run a server, so we don't retain anything ourselves. Retention of your selected text by the Dictionary API or Google Translate is governed by their own policies, not ours — we simply relay the request your click initiated.

Children's privacy
Easy Eng is a general-audience language tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age — see "What we don't collect" above.
Changes to this policy
If Easy Eng's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
